I Made A Blog Video!

A video? Hmmmm. Why would Mary make a video?

Well, one night last week, I was wide awake at 3am and I started thinking (which can be rather dangerous, in my case. lol) that in this age of technology and social media, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to step outside of my comfort zone and try doing something different to showcase and maybe draw some new readers to the blog.

It isn't exactly what I'd call professional, but it's had 35 views, as of this morning (not that I'm keeping track, mind you) and one comment from a very nice YouTube makeup/beauty vlogger named Patti, whose channel I'm subscribed to. At this point, it's hard to tell by my stats whether I'm getting any visits from it, but even if it doesn't draw scads of people, it was actually pretty fun to put together and it helped me learn some new computer skills. As I always say, that's a win/win!

By the way... Patti's channel is rxstrmom. (rock star mom) I found her when I was surfing around YouTube, looking for a makeup and beauty channel that wasn't geared mainly toward, how should I say this... well, a younger audience. Let's face it. I'm no spring chicken and while it's fun to know which color high waisted shorts are flying off the shelves at Forever 21, or what concealer works best to cover up those "totes creepy prom night blemishes", I'm more interested in finding out who makes and where to find the best moisturizers and foundations for women who are over 29 uh, 40... OK, OK! 50. There. I said it. Happy now? Geeze!

All joking aside... if you're a woman who's around my age (52) and you're looking for some great tips on living well and aging gracefully, you really should stop by and check out Patti's videos. She's a true Southern lady, with some great tips and an awesome sense of humor. Oh, and did I mention? She's stunning.

OK... Drum roll, please!

Th-Th-Th-That's All Folks!

    1. LOL! Thanks, Rob! It really was fun putting it together, but it took me forever to choose a tune from the music that's available. I also realized when I watched it later, that one of the dishes I included, hasn't even been posted yet. Ooops! My bad. I'm working on it now. :~) XOXO

    1. Thanks, Liza! I guess the idea was to inspire folks to come to the blog for the recipes, so if it's making you and Robin hungry, it must be working. lol XOXO

  3. It's lunchtime here and I was TRYING TO BE GOOD. But noooo, you had to go and show me all those amazing pictures for recipes I have marked on my Favorite's bar. Yum yum. I think I will go try honey chicken for lunch right now. And your video and music were AWESOME. I felt like I was in June Cleaver's kitchen... ya dun good pilgrim. And if it makes you feel better, I am a tad, wee, teensy, tiny bit older than you. There, I said it. No I didn't share the ## - whatta ya, nuts?

    1. Thanks! You're too funny, Nan! LOL I thought the same thing when I found the music! I'd gone through a ton of samples and was almost going to give up, then this one showed up. It's perfect for the feeling I was going for. And btw... You're not that much older than I am, girl. ;~)
