I Really Need Some Spring!

This is what my back yard looked like yesterday morning:

It still looks pretty much the same, except the snow is now rain. (sigh)

Soooo, I thought I'd dig up some pictures that I took last summer and post them today. Hopefully they'll remind me that Spring and Summer are not really that far away.  It's going to take some serious convincing for me to believe it, (as I sit here listening to the plow scraping along my neighbor's driveway) but maybe if I just sit and stare at this post long enough, the water lapping at the shore, the graceful beauty of the flowers and the sunny blue skies and green grass will be imprinted in my subconscious and I'll think it's true.  If you're living in an area that looks anything like that first picture and feeling the late winter blues too, feel free to try it along with me!

Well, on with the experiment.....

For some added inspiration, I'm linking up with Java's 40 & Over Friday Blog Hop. I look forward to meeting some new friends!

  2. It is pouring rain here today. Your pictures inspired me toward optimism. And, I guess I feel lucky that I only have left over snow banks to worry about, instead of fresh snow!

  4. It snowed here last night. Nothing on the roads, but there is stuff on the ground. I must admit that I had forgotten how cold the north is in the winter. Brrrr.

  5. Oh I love your blog; it is so bright and cheery! I love the forks, knives and spoons but the photo's have put a smile on my face. The sun is shining in Philadelphia today.
It is still chilly (for me) but signs of spring are popping up.
Thank you so much for the kind comment you left for me..it made me feel better so thank you:)
I look forward to getting to know you.

  7. Liza: I'm glad the pics helped to inspire you to be more optomistic about Spring. As the day has gone on, the rain and slightly higher temps have at least started to melt the snowbanks a bit. Now, if it will just keep on in this direction....

Leslie: Welcome! Thanks so much for stopping by. I really hope you do have some better days ahead. I'm happy if the pictures helped in any way. Take care.

Sorry Rob. I know you aren't used to that kind of weather. I'm sure it will warm up sooner there than here. Hope you're doing alright. Try to stay warm, my friend.

Doreen: Thank you so much! Glad you came by. If all goes well, this should be the start of a warming trend. That was a powerful story and it truly touched me. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better too.

Betty: Thank you! Happy you came by. I think the photos helped a bit. A sunny day would sure be nice!

  9. Lovely photos. Your Italian salad looks delicious. You're right about the chicken and dumplings. It all depends on what you grew up with. Mom always made the puffy light ones, I loved them and cook mine that same way. The ones more like fat noodles are okay too, just not my favorite. Nice little blog.

  10. I can't believe y'all got snow yesterday! It actually snowed down here yesterday morning, but then it turned out to be a beautiful day; just a little cold.
    Nice to meet you!

  11. CW: I've had the noodle style as well and I certainly wouldn't refuse them if someone was kind enough to prepare them for me, but Mr B is a different story. Men... Who can figure them out? Thanks for stopping by!

Mary: Sorry you're still getting the white stuff too. We had flurries again this morning! It's just not right, ya know? Glad you had a better afternoon though. Hope it keeps up in that direction for you. Nice to meet you too!

  13. Shawn: Thank you my dear! It's slightly warmer today, but it's also very gray and damp. I'm just waiting for some nice, bright sunshine to go along with the warmer temps. (I almost feel greedy! lol) At least it'll be lighter, longer now that the clocks have "sprung" ahead!

    (((Hugs)))right back atchya!
