Do you remember the first time you fell in love? I was thirteen years old when I felt the very first pangs of young love. I'd like to be able to say that my first love was my current and forever love, but that wouldn't be the truth. (My one true love became apparent to me a little later...)

The object of my "puppy love" was fifteen and he was gorgeous. All the girls thought so. He went to a different school, but lived around the block, right next door to my best friend. And as if that wasn't enough, he also hung out with my older brother. Oh, I had it bad. I guess you could say that it was my first foray into stalking. I'd make my bestie sit with me on her front porch for hours, hoping he'd come out of his house and notice me. If she wasn't around, I'd just stroll around the block, over and over and over... At the time, I thought the world would come to an abrupt and horrible end if he didn't love me back. You can only imagine what a hot mess I was when I found out that he had a girlfriend. Seriously, it took what seemed like a lifetime back then, to get over him.

The first time I heard this Adele song, it made me think of that long ago time and what it felt like the first time someone broke my heart. Luckily, for me, my true love came along and put it back together again...

Both love this song and Adele! thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI Love that song. I Love that voice, but that song is so over played it's sickening to me now. I think every chick can understand the feeling she expresses in this song though. It makes me remember...
