DeleteI really wasn't aware there was any such thing as American White Cheese that is unprocessed. I guess I just assumed it was. Such an easy recipe. I'm going to pin that sucker!!! Making it from scratch has GOT to be less expensive (and tastier and fresher!) than buying it in a jar!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for pinning it, Alycia! True. All American cheese gets processed in some way. I'm referring to the kind that comes as individually wrapped "singles" and the one that comes in the yellow box. They all have real cheese in them, but some have other additives as well. By law, in order for a brand to be labeled solely as cheese, it must contain 100% cheese. If it doesn't, it has to be labeled "cheese food" or "cheese product".
DeleteI've had the nacho style queso in a jar, but I haven't tried a white queso version. If they're similar, I think I can safely say that homemade tastes much better. LOL
Yum to all of the above!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liza!
