Happy Monday!

Good Monday Morning!

I haven't joined in on Java's fun Monday meme for quite some time, so I thought it would be a fun thing to do this week!  It's a sweet way to start the week and I love the fact that right out of the gate, it allows you to learn some intersting little tidbits about each blogger that you visit. If you've never linked up to Never Growing Old's  Meet Me On Monday meme before, give it a try! I know you'll have loads of fun!  (to learn more about our hostess, the lovely Java, just ckick on her name above)

So, here are this weeks questions!

1. What is was the last piece of candy that you ate?
2. Do you "read" in the bathroom?

3. I can't stand when someone _________?
4. Do you do daily, weekly or monthly grocery shopping?

My answers are......

1.  The last piece of candy I ate was actually a handful of M&M's ! I know that's not just one piece, but in candy parlance I'd say it counts!  Hub's prefers the Peanut M&M's, but I'm a traditional kind of girl and I loooove the originals!

2.  Well... Some folks might not like to admit it, but I think everyone at some point in their lives picks up a magazine, a good book or maybe the flyers from the Sunday paper and heads on in to the "throne room" for what we call around here, a "sit down".  Judging by the photo below, some people take this very seriously....

3.  I can't stand when someone....  doesn't use their turn signal!  Grrr!  My daddy drummed it into my head that you must always use your turn signal. Even if there's not another car in sight.  We've always chuckled about the fact that the first place he took us when teaching us how to drive was at a nearby cemetery!  He never said it in so many words, but I'm guessing that he wanted to make sure we weren't going to kill anyone. LOL

4.  Now that the nest is empty, we grocery shop when we need to. Sometimes we'll go and get a cart full of stuff but more often than not, we just stop when we're out running other errands and pick up the few things we need at that time. (don't forget to bring your reuseable shopping bags!)

 Have a great week!

  2. I ALWAYS forget my reusable bags...consequently I have a huge pile of them right by the front door...it is a great idea in theory but when I'm heading out the door I've got an errand list running in my head and tunnel vision, I guess.

And whenever I think about just throwing a few in the car for 'next time' I get distracted by something important like my husband asking what's for supper.

  3. Love that bumper sticker. "Using your turn signal is not giving information to the enemy." I laughed and laughed. I am beginning to think that parents don't teach their kids to drive anymore. They just leave it up to the driver's ed people. Or they don't pass down the tips that their parents insisted on because the driving is getting crazier and crazier. My dad taught me defensive driving. He told me that too many people were already driving offensively and if didn't want to be in an accident, I better learn to drive defensively. He was soooo right.

  4. Oh my gosh ... that throne room comment and photo about had me on the floor laughing! Even my 13 year-old cracked up. He's the king of the throne around here, and would love a room like that!

  6. Cindy: Thanks for stopping by and following! I'll be sure to pop over and check things out...

Moe: I was always forgetting the bags too, but now I make sure to keep at least two in the car and a couple by the front door. Grabbing one or two on the way out has become a habit finally! Thanks for coming by and following!

Robin: How are you my love? I've been thinking about you a lot and I've missed you a bunch. I'll be by to visit shortly. I thought that bumper sticker was hilarious too! Hubs gets so annoyed with me when I "gently remind him" to turn on his blinker! LOL I can't say with complete certainty, but I bet I've saved our behinds a few times...

Holly: Isn't that just the funniest bathroom you've ever seen? I used to work for a doctor and his office was in his home. We had to use his "private throne room" and he had a bookshelf in there, but it wasn't even close to this one! LOL Glad you and your son got a good chuckle. Looking forward to linking up with you tomorrow!

  7. It is always nice to learn more about our fellow bloggers! Love those shopping bags! And signaling...well yes it would be nice if people learned to use them more often!

  8. Love the bathroom photo.

When we lived in Rarotonga I went shopping daily but it is too expensive to do that here for us so I am now a planner.

  9. Many years ago, when I was a very young driver, I was driving down the road, turned on a side street and had the guy waiting at the intersection to yell "BLINKER" out of his window at me. That pretty much broke me of not using my blinker :-D

  12. That was fun. I keep the reusable bags in the car, but I admit I have walked in without them, and then I buy another!
I like the plain m and m's too, and I tried the new coconut kind, and they were good, esp if you like Mounds!

  14. M&M: Isn't it nice to know there are so many like minded folks out in the blogosphere? It's one of the very pleasant surprises I realized when I first started blogging...

Bella: Wow! Roratonga! There must have been great market places near-by for you to get really fresh ingredients! I think we shop in a much less healthy way here in the states because the big grocery stores have so much "stuff" to grab impulsively. I would love to have a fresh market available all year round.

Donna: Yeah, that'll put a little scare into you when you're a new driver! I would have felt the same way!

Amy: Hi! Thanks for stopping by! I'm now following you too!

FV: Howdy darlin'! I know... Is that not the funiest picture? I think you really should link up sometime. I know you'd have fun!

Kathleen: I did that just yesterday! I was coming from an appointment, stopped at the store on a whim and forgot the darned things in the car. So, I now have two new bags! LOL

Doylene: Hi! Your hubby must have had a dad like mine, or at least a driving teacher who had a pet peeve about blinkers!

Tawna: Hi! Thanks for coming by and following! I'll stop over soon and check out your hop for sure!
